Sweden, Stockholm
Northern Europe 2019, day 10: Stockholm
Tuesday, August 13th: We headed back to Stockholm to catch our overnight ferry to Estonia. Anna’s waiting patiently while we “get organized” at Stockholm Central.
The ferry is huge…it’s actually a cruise ship with several restaurants, grocery store, entertainment, etc. It’s freestyle, for sure!
Our cabin…with a window, thank goodness. You can see two beds folded up against the wall on the right, and the couch makes up the third bed. I called the bottom bunk.
Anne: Good call, Cheryl!
Casey doing yoga on Anna’s bunk.
Anne: Tight fit for Casey!
Pre-dinner cocktail…I know what you’re thinking, “That looks rather small.” The menu actually had a page with “American-sized cocktails” but we’re being Canadian while we’re on this trip, so I didn’t partake.
The ship had a fancy Russian restaurant and we were able to get a table. Apparently, people reserve some of the nicer restaurants way in advance. It took a while for our waiter to come by, but we finally got our appetizers: whitefish roe with blini (on the middle plate), pickles with sour cream and honey, and rye bread with butter.
There was a beautiful sunset outside our porthole. Casey took Anna to check out the tween nightlife around 9:00pm, but they came back right away and said it was a bit of a dud. So we read and watched movies until bedtime ( which has been all over the place on this trip).
